Psalms 8:1-9
(For the director of music. According to gittith. Title: Probably a musical term A psalm of David.)Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Or [what is a human being that you are mindful of him, / a son of man that you care for him?]
You have made them Or [him] a little lower than the angels Or [than God] and crowned them Or [him] with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their Or [made him ruler . . . ; / . . . his] feet:
all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Genesis 1:26-28
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, Probable reading of the original Hebrew text (see Syriac); Masoretic Text [the earth] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Psalms 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
