15Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

4Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

3Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. Or [swear falsely] 5They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.

18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

13Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, The Greek word for [brothers and sisters] ([adelphoi]) refers here to believers, both men and women, as part of God's family; also in verse 16. if the world hates you.
