Scripture
Acts 7:22-24
22Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.
23When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites.
24He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9
7or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Hebrews 11:24-26
24By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
25He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.
26He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.
Exodus 2:13-15
13The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?
14The man said, Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian? Then Moses was afraid and thought, What I did must have become known.
15When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.
Exodus 3:2
2There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
Exodus 3:7
7The Lord said, I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.
Exodus 3:10-11
10So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
11But Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?
Numbers 12:3
3(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
1 Kings 17:1-4
1Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe Or [Tishbite, of the settlers] in Gilead, said to Ahab, As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.
2Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah:
3Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.
4You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.
1 Kings 18:36-38
36At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.
37Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.
38Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.
Galatians 1:15-18
15But when God, who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, was pleased
16to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.
17I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.
18Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas That is, Peter and stayed with him fifteen days.
1 Corinthians 1:25
25For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
